OS X 10.7.3 also fixes bugs related to using smart cards to log in, issues authenticating with directory services, and compatibility issues with Windows file sharing. Also included: fixes for an issue printing certain Microsoft Word documents, a graphics performance problem after certain iMacs wake from sleep, and a Wi-Fi connection issue after waking from sleep. There are also a slew of improvements for Directory Services.

Apple offers the 10.7.3 update through Software Update. You can also download the updater directly from Apple’s website, whether you need the client version or the only slightly larger combo updater.

Also released Wednesday was Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 Server edition, which packs numerous fixes and improvements. Apple offers the regular updater at its site, along with the combo updater and updated Server Admin Tools.

Some have blamed the hacktivist group Anonymous, which was rumored to be planning to take down the social network on November 5, for this attack. Three months ago, the larger collective group made a point to say it did not support such a takedown operation and in the end it did not take place: the service has remained operational all month.

Facebook is still up and running, but it has been exploited in a coordinated way. There is no proof that Anonymous is behind this flood of inappropriate images and links (normally such an attack would result in confirmation from Anonymous, in some shape or form), but it only takes a few members or ex-members to pull something like this off.

3D Sweep Panorama is a camera shooting mode where users can capture a scene in true 3D with a sweep of the camera.  When pictures are played back on a compatible 3D TV, the images come alive with depth, clarity and realism.

For 3D Sweep Panorama, users just pan the camera and up to 100 images are automatically taken from a number of different angles.  The camera’s processor then analyzes and combines these images to build the full 3D picture, which can be viewed as a fully three dimensional panoramic image on a compatible 3D TV.

The first of these smartphones with 3D image capture is the Xperia™ ray, an elegant smartphone with a side profile of only 9.4mm and a 3.3-inch touchscreen.  The Xperia™ ray’s body is based on a genuine aluminum frame, visible on each side of the display. Once again, my favorite browser Firefox has been updated to Firefox 8. There are many major changes including a more compatibility with HTML5 and other CSS options.

These are the following changes:

• Add-ons installed by third party programs are now disabled by default

• Added Twitter to the search bar for select locales. Additional locale support will be added in the future
