Globe recently celebrated its 20th Annual Business Partners Appreciation event with the theme "Behind Greatness. Beyond Success: 20 Years of 2getherness,” highlighting the company’s enduring commitment to its business partners and its mission of fostering collaborative and sustainable business practices.
The event, held at The Globe Tower in Bonifacio Global City, welcomed Globe's Top 100 partners for Year 2023, recognizing their contributions to the company’s success and growth.
"At Globe, we have always believed in the power of partnerships. It has been the cornerstone of our innovation and expansion efforts, enabling us to execute at the highest level of standards,” said Ernest Cu, Globe Group President and CEO, in his remarks at the gathering.
Prestigious awards were given out to key partners, spanning categories such as Commercial and Business Enabling, IT, Build, Maintenance, Technology, and Sustainability, highlighting the company’s diverse supply chain aimed at delivering reliable connectivity and high-quality products and services to its valued customers.
“Our partners consistently demonstrate dedication, expertise, and resilience to overcome any challenges and support Globe in delivering its products and services to customers,” said Jerry Cabiles, Globe Vice President for Procurement and Logistics.
An addition to the event was the introduction of the Sustainability segment, which aims to recognize their value and contribution to the company’s commitment towards sustainable development.
“As a sustainability champion, Globe is working towards embedding Environment, Social and Governance principles and policies in our business operations as part of our commitment to sustainable development and business strategy of establishing a sustainable supply chain,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.
Globe has been working closely with its partners to enable them in their respective sustainability journeys. Earlier this year, Globe piloted the Globe Sustainability Academy for Supply Chain in partnership with the Makati Business Club (MBC), providing training to five local MSMEs representing various sectors such as printing services, advertising materials, telecom subscriber line installation, facility maintenance, and civil works.
As part of its early work to integrate sustainable practices with its potential vendors, Globe encourages its suppliers to adhere with its Supplier Code of Ethics (SCOE) in support of the economic, social, and governance aspects of sustainability that the company practices. Vendors and suppliers are likewise encouraged to extend these sustainability practices to their own operations and their respective partners as well.
Last year, Globe also introduced sustainability as a criteria as part of the technical evaluation process for selecting vendors in its sustainable Power Purchasing Program and purchase of network equipment. With at least 10% of the overall criteria dedicated to sustainability, this ensures that suppliers adhere to the requirements of the company on sustainable and ethical business practices.
As Globe continues to deliver products and services to its customers, the company is committed to develop positive and long-term relationships by engaging its network of stakeholders and integrating sustainability in its processes to create a Globe of Good.
