#GCash recently celebrated a significant achievement in its mission to empower women in technology. The first cohort of scholars from the Elevate GAIL (Generative Artificial Intelligence Learning) program, a joint initiative with Connected Women, has graduated, armed with enhanced AI skills to advance their careers and businesses.
Nearly 100 women, predominantly entrepreneurs and freelancers, graduated from the Elevate GAIL program on July 12, Friday. Over a month, these women received training on fundamental AI principles and applications, along with practical experience with Gen AI tools and techniques.
GCash and Connected Women initiated the Elevate GAIL program in April, with a shared vision of creating more opportunities for women in tech and unlocking their potential for tech innovation.
Rommin Diaz, GCash Communications Strategy Head, said, “As the gig economy and remote work rise, an increasing number of freelancers are leveraging the potential of generative AI to boost their productivity and earning potential. This is a space where GCash can truly help and make a difference. We are committed to enabling more women to pursue careers in tech and STEM because women play a crucial role in developing solutions that benefit society.”
Connected Women co-founder Gina Romero told the graduates, “Generative AI is just at the beginning, and we’re going to see many new changes and exciting developments. I’m confident that you will use these tools not only to contribute to your own success but also to make an impact in society and community. We would like to thank GCash for creating that first ripple with us.”
Connected Women plans to continue this program to reach another 2,000 women. Romero added that they aim to engage the graduates as experts to further enhance the learning of future Elevate GAIL scholars, addressing the need for role models among women in tech.
