Globe Spearheads Digital Transformation at Good Design Award PH 2024

In its ongoing mission to elevate the Filipino design community, Globe recently took the helm at the Good Design Award Philippines 2024, pioneering tech integration in the awards process and contributing to the Philippine creator culture.

Globe led the digital transformation of the award system process, facilitating a paperless experience by equipping judges with tablets during the evaluation phase.

The award ceremony took place at The Globe Tower, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, on June 29, 2024, in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry-Design Center of the Philippines (DTI-Design Center).

The event brought together esteemed industry leaders and design luminaries such as globally acclaimed designer Kenneth Cobonpue, Tina Periquet of Periquet Galicia, Jowee Alviar of Team Manila, Butch Carungay of Cebu UNESCO, Reese Fernandez-Ruiz of Rags2Riches, and Emi Englis of Davao Fashion Council.

Crisela Magpayo-Cervantes, Globe’s Vice President of Marketing Communications, initiated the program, stating, “The Good Design Award Philippines bridges this year’s winners to the world. We are thrilled to support our country’s designers in showcasing Philippine design on the global stage.”

The event celebrated designs that resonated with Globe’s commitment to sustainability, transformation, and upliftment.

The Malasakit Gran Prix Award was the highlight of the event, awarded to the First United Building in Escolta, Manila. This Art Deco landmark, originally designed by Andres P. Luna, has been revitalized into a dynamic hub for creative communities, exemplifying urban regeneration and adaptive reuse.

The Gold Award was bestowed upon the Right to Care Card from Quezon City. This healthcare proxy document empowers same-sex couples to make medical decisions for each other during emergencies, demonstrating how design can foster inclusivity and enhance government services.
