The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and GCash have launched the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Caravan in Tarlac City to help Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families achieve financial independence. The two-day event, themed “Bagong Bayani Kaagapay sa Bagong Pilipinas,” offered a variety of services, including pre-employment and anti-illegal recruitment orientation seminars, welfare and legal assistance, and reintegration support. #GCash also conducted a financial literacy program to help OFWs maximize their earnings and understand the importance of saving.

DMW Usec. Patricia Yvonne “PY” Caunan emphasized the importance of partnerships with local government units (LGUs) and private institutions like GCash to help OFWs manage their finances and achieve their financial goals. She highlighted that the ultimate goal is for migrant workers to return home to their loved ones with financial stability.

During the caravan, GCash showcased its suite of services designed to improve the lives of OFWs and their families. These services include secure money transfers, savings accounts, insurance, and lending and investment options, all accessible through the GCash app. GCash International General Manager Paul Albano highlighted the company’s commitment to providing cost-efficient money transfer solutions and competitive exchange rates through partnerships with international remittance centers.

GCash has expanded its services to more territories, allowing Filipinos to download and use the GCash app with their international numbers. GCash Overseas is available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Germany, Qatar, Kuwait, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia. The app also enables OFWs to receive money from the Philippines and make seamless cashless transactions using the GCash Scan to Pay feature in Alipay+ enabled merchants.
