Promos for VCT Champions 2024 to be headlined by SB19’s Josh Cullen, Al James, Zack Tabudlo, KAIA, and G22.
#RiotGamesPhilippines is gearing up to celebrate the grand finale of the 2024 #VALORANT Champions Tour with Filipino #gamers. The world’s leading publisher of globally renowned games and esports titles has partnered with ten PC Cafes across the nation, nine Collegiate Esports Organizations, and select OPM artists. They have activated several VALORANT Community Hubs to commemorate the arrival of Champions 2024 and offer Pinoy VALORANT players the opportunity to become a VALORANT champion in their community by participating in local pocket events and winning exclusive swag and special prizes.
VALORANT Champions is the year’s most significant VALORANT tournament and the culmination of a seven-month-long competition featuring the world’s best teams competing to become the next VALORANT World Champion. The VALORANT Champions Tour began with an international kick-off in February, followed by Masters in Madrid and Shanghai and several Regional League Stages between March and July. The tour now continues with Champions 2024 in Seoul, South Korea, until August 30.
To bring VALORANT Champions closer to Pinoy gaming communities, Riot Games Philippines has collaborated with multiple partners to create community touchpoints, including PC Cafes and University esports organizations.
From August 1 to 30, ten PC cafe branches will transform into VALORANT Community Hubs during the Champions 2024 season. These include Naos Esports Arena in Taft Avenue, Manila; TNC Cyber Cafe branches located in Quezon City, Malolos, Morayta, Dasmariñas, and Bacolod USLS in Visayas; and Kadiliman Esports Cafe branches in Biñan, Las Piñas, Marikina, and Comembo in Taguig. These participating PC cafes will host month-long watch parties and pocket events where gamers can play, watch, and win limited edition VCT Supernova swags and exclusive digital codes.
Riot Games Philippines will also activate the GG Truck for a watch party in Cebu, along with several University esports organizations who will hold Champions 2024 watch parties where players can watch with friends and take home exclusive Supernova prizes. The University Orgs include UP Gaming Guild of the University of the Philippines, Enderun Gaming Guild of Enderun Colleges, Teletigers Esports Club of the University of Santo Tomas, Romancon Gaming of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Zenith Esports of the University of the East, LPU Pirate Esports of the Lyceum of the Philippines University, Wizards Circle Esports of the National University, FIT іTamaraws Esports Club of the Far Eastern University, and LG Esports of the Ateneo de Manila University.
“VCT Champions 2024 is more than an esport; it’s the culmination of a VALORANT year where both game and esports intersect. Recognizing the country’s competitive gaming culture and esports communities, we want to give players and fans more opportunities to experience and enjoy Champions 2024. This is why we decided to work with several partners to bring the fun and excitement closer to them,” said Jason Roberto, Brand Manager for VALORANT at Riot Games Philippines.
Champions 2024 PH promos to feature OPM acts
Al James, SB19’s Josh Cullen, and Zack Tabudlo, together with the KAIA girl group—featuring Charice, Charlotte, Sophia, Alexa, and Angela—headline Riot Games Philippines’ promos for VALORANT Champions 2024.
Set to be held in Seoul, South Korea, the world’s pop culture capital, Riot Games also aims to celebrate Champions 2024 with Filipino players and exhibit the cultural influence of VALORANT through collaborations with local artists.
Globally, Champions 2024 has recently launched its official anthem, ‘SUPERPOWER,’ featuring KISS OF LIFE and Mark Tuan, South Korean pop sensations, along with thematic in-game features such as Pick’Ems powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Champions Seoul Drops, and more.
In the Philippines, Riot Games is collaborating with the country’s hottest OPM and pop personalities such as SB19’s Josh Cullen, Zack Tabudlo, Al James, G22, and KAIA to ignite interest for VALORANT and Champions from adjacent subcultures and fandoms.
“Hosting Champions 2024 in Seoul was very exciting for us given Korea’s rich pop culture and influence in the Philippines. And with the rising popularity of P-pop in the country, we saw an opportunity to really amplify VALORANT’s cultural resonance for both players and fans of the esport,” said Jason. “It’s all about uniting a diverse global community around a shared passion for quality competition and stylish gameplay that defies cultural expectations within and beyond the game,” he added.
There’s more to come for VALORANT Champions 2024! Visit the nearest participating TNC Cyber Cafe, Kadiliman Esports Cafe, and NAOS Esports Arena in your community, and be sure to follow VALORANT on Facebook and Instagram for all things Champions."
