The 11th Globe Media Excellence Awards Expands Nationwide

Globe is thrilled to announce that it is now accepting entries for the 11th Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA), an initiative that continues to celebrate the best in journalism and content creation across the country.

Eligible stories are those published between June 2023 and August 2024 that align with this year’s theme of “#IgnitingProgress”. The submission window opened on July 26, 2024, and will close on August 31, 2024.

For the first time, GMEA@11 is expanding its reach to Luzon, after years of focusing on the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

To mark this significant expansion, Globe is introducing three new awards that reflect its commitment to impactful storytelling and its mission of digital enablement and sustainability.

Globe of Good Story of the Year

Previously known as #KwentongTagumpay: Uplifting Lives Through Digital Technology, the Globe of Good Story of the Year award recognizes stories about initiatives that empower communities to overcome challenges and enhance lives. It promotes purposeful reporting, showcasing campaigns that can be considered by government sectors, and encourages relevant discourse and action within the community.

i-KMD Mo Yan! Award

The i-KMD Mo Yan! Award emphasizes the accessibility of healthcare through digital technology. It celebrates inspiring and empowering storytelling that focuses on democratizing healthcare for Filipinos across the regions. This award recognizes journalists who bring innovative health and wellness stories to the forefront, aiming to enhance Filipinos’ digital knowledge and physical well-being.

Senior Digizen Advocate Award

The Senior Digizen Advocate Award honors inspiring and empowering storytelling about senior citizens who have embraced digital literacy. It showcases how the elderly use technology to make their daily lives happier, more convenient, and more fulfilling.

“We are excited to accept entries for GMEA@11, this time not only from Visayas and Mindanao but also from Luzon. This expansion enables us to recognize the remarkable talent of journalists and content creators across the country who capture stories that drive progress and inspire positive change in the regions,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe.
